CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 25, 2026) – The City of Chattanooga, theChattanooga Housing Authority and our ONE Westside partners are seeking to apply for a public art opportunity in Chattanooga’s Westside neighborhood.
A new mural inspired by the community will be placed on the James A. Henry Hub. This will replace the murals that were removed in the redevelopment of the building and while maintaining the iconic and motivational presence of public art in the heart of the community.
Construction at the new Chattown Skatepark is progressing steadily. Since demolition and construction began in November, the team has successfully installed all erosion control and interior drainage. Currently, 90% of the grading for the subgrade is complete, and the foundations for the new bathroom facilities have officially broken ground.

Garbage and Recycle Collection and Site Schedule
Chattanooga, TN-- Garbage and Recycle collection scheduled for Memorial
Day, Monday, May 26th, 2025, will be collected as normal. There will be no
changes to the collection day. Please place containers along the curbside by
7:00 AM on collection day to ensure pickup.
The Birchwood Landfill and the Wood Recycle Center will be closed on
Monday, May 26th, 2025, and will reopen on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025.
