Mural enhances pedestrian detour route along Riverfront Pkwy

Chattanooga, TN – (April 10, 2026) – Kicking off ArtsWeek in Chattanooga, the City of Chattanooga’s Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, is delighted to announce the completed installation of a new mural to enhance a prominent wall along the ramp connecting Veterans Bridge to Riverside Drive/Riverfront Parkway.

“Chattanooga Flows” by the local Artist SEVEN is part of an effort to activate the pedestrian and cyclist detour created during the temporary closure of the Walnut Street Bridge with engaging public art.

The Artist SEVEN’s site specific, printed mural spans 1,800 square feet. Public Art Chattanooga piloted an alternative approach to onsite painting to limit the road closure timeframe. The mural was printed on a masonry-confirming adhesive vinyl and installed by the City’s contractor, Printree.

To celebrate, Chattanoogans are invited to view the mural, meet the artist and enjoy a gentle, flow yoga class inspired by the new artwork from 12-1 p.m., Friday, April 17. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required to reserve a spot <https://chattanooga.perfectmind.com/32731/Classes/BookMe4LandingPages/CoursesLandingPage?courseId=31ebd26c-ccfb-4af5-a54c-0f7ac117c198>. Those attending the event in the River Gallery Sculpture Garden are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat (limited mats will be available).

On display for a minimum of five years, the mural will enhance the overall pedestrian, cyclist and public space experience while celebrating Chattanooga’s natural rhythm and flow of outdoor activities, landscapes and wildlife along the Tennessee River.
