East Lake House Fire Contained To Garage

A house fire in East Lake was possibly caused by a man welding in his garage.

It happened around 2:40 PM Thursday in the 3000 block of 6th Avenue.

Engine 9 arrived on scene and saw heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage, which is attached to the rear of the home.

The residents were outside when firefighters arrived.

Responding crews had the fire under control in a matter of minutes and stopped it from spreading to the house.

Battalion 1, Battalion 2, Engine 9, Engine 5, Ladder 5, Ladder 1, Engine 15 and Squad 1 responded. There were no injuries.
