Around 1:30 p.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department was dispatched to the same location after someone called 911 saying they could see smoke coming from the house. Commander Don Eaves with Engine 12 said that when they entered the house, they found a small fire on the living room floor. They extinguished the fire in seconds.
Lt. Henry McElvain with the Fire Investigation Division said it was obvious that the fire was intentionally set, but no arrests have been made yet. Anyone who might have information that could help the investigators is urged to call the Chattanooga Police Department at (423) 698-2525.
