Firefighters Put Out Brush Fire

Battalion Chief Rick Boatwright said the firefighters managed to contain most of the fire to the kitchen area. The resident told firefighters that he fell asleep while cooking. The man was checked out by paramedics with Hamilton County EMS, and then transported to Erlanger Medical Center as a precaution.

Chief Boatwright said the dollar loss to the house and its contents was estimated at $11,000. The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental, from food being left unattended on the stove.
