Upon arrival, Captain Haney said smoke and fire was visible from the attic. Battalion Chief Bob Dixon said the fire crews made an interior attack and was able to contain the fire to the attic.
One firefighter was injured during the operation. While charging a hoseline with water, the high water pressure made a hose coupling spring up in the air, striking Senior Firefighter Traci Dossett above her left eye. Dossett was transported by Hamilton County EMS to Erlanger Medical Center, where she was treated for a laceration above her left eye. Safety Officer Shawn O'Kelly said Dossett received some stitches and would be sent home for the rest of the day.
Two adults, two teenagers and a dog lived in the large, two-story house, and all got out safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
