Paddle the Tennessee River and Lock Through Chickamauga Dam!
Join Outdoor Chattanooga for a guided kayak adventure on the Tennessee River, culminating in the unforgettable experience of navigating through the TVA Chickamauga Dam locks. See firsthand this engineering marvel that allows boats to pass safely through a dam built for flood control and hydroelectric power.
This beginner-friendly trip includes all paddling equipment, instruction, and experienced guides. You’ll spend about 2 hours on the water, exploring the river and learning about the locks and other urban wilderness marvels. A shuttle will be conducted at the beginning of the trip so that you will end at your vehicle!
All equipment is provided. This adventure is suitable for ages 14 and up when accompanied by an adult. Registration is required, and space is limited to maintain safe guide-to-participant ratios—so sign up early! This is a fee based program at $35 per person.
