. – On December 13, 2025, at 06:30 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to
a report of a pedestrian struck at 3710 Rossville Blvd. The crash resulted
in a fatality.
The Chattanooga Police Department’s Traffic/DUI Unit responded to conduct
the investigation. Preliminary findings indicate the 61-year-old male was
traveling in a motorized wheelchair in the roadway and was initially struck
by a green Chevy Suburban, then subsequently struck again by a silver SUV.
Both vehicles left the scene and have yet to be located.
The person struck, Mr. Joe Carter, was transported to a local hospital,
where he later succumbed to his injuries.
This information is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation
