14-year-old Eddie Pitman – who turns 15 tomorrow – was treated for lacerations to a leg he received while trying to get off the roof of the back porch. Captain Anthony Moore with the Fire Investigation Division said the boy did not injure his leg when he kicked out the window on the second floor. While he was being helped off the porch roof, he accidently put a leg through a first floor window, which is how he got his lacerations. He has since been released from the hospital and is reportedly with his grandmother.
An Erlanger spokesperson said the 3-year-old boy, David Gladden III, remains under observation in the Pediatric ICU for smoke inhalation.
The dollar loss to the house was estimated at $100,000. The cause of the fire remains undetermined and under investigation.
