Join Outdoor Chattanooga and celebrate the January Full Wolf Moon with a First Day–style program designed to ground, inspire, and connect.

The Wolf Moon,  invites us to reflect, to listen inwardly, and to strengthen the bonds that carry us through the year. In this spirit of renewal, we’ll gather during the day to explore the meaning of this moon and set gentle, personal intentions for the year ahead.

A Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center naturalist will lead a special visit to see the resident Red Wolves, sharing their story, their vital role in conservation, and the deep connection between wolves, wilderness, and renewal. This encounter offers a powerful backdrop for reflecting on resilience, community, and our place within the natural world.

Afterward, we’ll transition into an intention-setting mindfulness walk, known as Forest Bathing, along some of Reflection Riding’s scenic trails. This easy, unhurried walk is open to all fitness levels and designed to help you step into the year with clarity and calm. As we move through the winter landscape, we’ll use breath, observation, and quiet reflection to anchor our intentions—letting each step become a small commitment to the path ahead.

Whether you’re welcoming the new year, honoring the lunar cycle, or simply seeking a peaceful moment in nature, this daytime Wolf Moon celebration offers a warm, inclusive space to begin your year with presence, meaning, and community.

Come walk into the New Year with us—mindfully, gently, and in the spirit of the Wolf Moon.
