Requirements
Am I Eligible?
- Must be a City of Chattanooga resident
- Must be up to date on your stormwater fee and property taxes (check here)
- Applicants must sign the Homeowner’s Agreement, which includes a 5 year maintenance commitment. If you are renting, the owner of the home must sign our homeowner's agreement.
- Installation must meet required program specifications
Purchase Options
Program participants have the option of sourcing their own rain barrels OR purchasing through the City’s Annual Rain Barrel Distribution day.
Annual Rain Barrel Distribution Day
City and non-city residents can purchase up to ten 50-gallon rain barrels per household through the City of Chattanooga’s Rain Barrel Distribution Day. Rain barrels purchased through the distribution day are eligible for reimbursement. Click here to purchase your rain barrel(s).
How Do I Apply?
Purchase and install your rain barrel(s) to the required program specifications.
Sign the rain barrel rebate form.
Scan in or take high-quality photos of itemized receipts.
Take a photo of your installed rain barrel(s).
Submit signed rain barrel rebate form, receipts, and photo(s) to stormwater@chattanooga.gov
We will reply with a link for you to schedule an in-person inspection of your already installed rain barrel(s).
Once inspection is completed and we have received all the necessary documentation, we will start processing your reimbursement.
