CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (October 6, 2025) – A major milestone in the City’s
efforts to prevent sewer overflows and protect local waterways is being
constructed alongside Interstate 75 where Chattanooga’s Environmental and
Economic Infrastructure Improvements (e2i2) project is now visible.

City announces street safety improvements for drivers, pedestrians

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2025) – The City of Chattanooga is moving
forward with street improvements to enhance driver and pedestrian safety.

Traffic cameras have been installed at Orchard Knob Elementary School and
Brainerd High School to help ensure the 15 mile-per-hour school zone speed
limit is abided. These school zones have flashing beacons in place to warn
drivers.

Chattanooga, Tenn. (September 19, 2025) - The City of Chattanooga’s Office
of Community Health is hosting the One Community, One Mission: Violence
Summit aimed at uniting residents, community leaders, service providers and
local officials around the critical issue of violence prevention.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2025) – The Department of Community
Development will absorb staff from community health, engagement, safety and
gun violence prevention under a new ordinance passed today by the City
Council on first reading.

The city staff re-organization also includes dissolving the Department of
Equity and Community Engagement (ECE) and moving staff over to the Office
of Constituent Services.

hosting a purchasing expo to help area businesses learn how the city
sources and utilizes local businesses, amid ongoing efforts to simplify and
streamline the experience of doing business with the city.

The purchasing expo will take place from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Thursday,
September 25 at the East Chattanooga Community Center on 2409 Dodson
Ave. Registration
is not necessary.

City of Chattanooga Awards Neighborhood Action Grants
35 Associations Awarded for Community Engagement, Visibility Projects

CHATTANOOGA, TN (September 12, 2025) – The City of Chattanooga’s
Neighborhood Services Division is investing $25,000 across 35 Neighborhood
Associations as part of its Fiscal Year 2026 Neighborhood Action Grant.

The grants support community-driven branding and visibility projects that
help residents better identify with their neighborhood and stay connected
to their local association.

3rd Annual FunFair Festival Set for Saturday

Free community event to be held at Chattanooga Green

CHATTANOOGA, TN (September 12, 2025) – The 3rd Annual FunFair Festival will
be held from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 13.

This free community celebration will be held at the Chattanooga Green and
features performances by Citi Limitz, the Glenwood Steppers, Tyner
Middle/High Marching Band, and more. Mayor Tim Kelly will provide brief
remarks around noon.

CHATTANOOGA, TN (September 9, 2025) - Today, the Chattanooga City Council passed Mayor Tim Kelly’s 1.93 property tax rate and supplemental budget plan, giving final passage to the crucial government funding legislation.
