Property Release Process
Submit the Property Release Request Form.
When claiming property, be aware of the following rules and requirements:
- A nationwide criminal background check (Triple I inquiry), which may take up to 10 business days, is mandatory for any individual receiving a firearm.
- Individuals not named on the official release or court order must present a notarized power of attorney to claim items.
- For minors without identification who are named on the release or court order, a parent or legal guardian may claim the property by presenting a certified birth certificate.
When your request has been approved, bring legal identification to complete your claim.
Items can only be authorized for release by a CPD officer or with a valid court order.
It is crucial to include the case/complaint number when submitting this request. Without it, your application cannot be processed. If you do not have this number, please contact [423-698-2525] to obtain it.
