Neighborhood Action Grant (FY 2026)

Celebrate Your Neighborhood’s Identity

The FY 2026 Neighborhood Action Grant supports projects that uplift neighborhood pride, increase visibility, and tell the unique story of each community in Chattanooga. This year's funding opportunity focuses on neighborhood branding, giving residents the chance to showcase their identity through creative, place-based projects.

What Can the Grant Fund?

Eligible projects may include:

  • Neighborhood sign toppers
  • Porch banners and yard signs
  • Entryway or neighborhood markers
  • Meeting signs or branded materials

These branding elements help build unity, celebrate history, and create a stronger sense of place.

Funding Available

  • Up to $25,000 in total funding
  • Individual grants up to $1,500
  • Enough to fund items like a full set of street sign toppers, custom banners, or a small neighborhood marker.


Who Can Apply?

Any Neighborhood Association registered with the City of Chattanooga is eligible.

How to Apply

Online applications open June 2 – June 30, 2025.

 Paper copies are available by request.

Required materials include:

  • A 2–3 paragraph Neighborhood Story describing the identity and current needs of your community
  • A brief Project Description listing specific branding items requested
  • Three product quotes for pricing accuracy
  • A detailed project budget

Final Reporting

Grantees must submit a brief final report within 30 days of project completion to document:

  • What was created or installed
  • How residents were engaged

Neighborhood Roundtable

Neighborhood Services has hosted Neighborhood Roundtables for about as long as we've been around. Hosted on a monthly basis, the purpose of the Roundtable is to provide Neighborhood Associations and the general public at-large an opportunity to connect with City administrators and policymakers in order to learn important information and to also give feedback on important City initiatives.
 

2025 Neighborhood Roundtable Series

Neighborhood Services announces our 2025 Neighborhood Roundtable series! Join us on the 3rd Monday of every month at 5:30 PM at the City Council Building for our Neighborhood Services Roundtable. This ongoing series provides an opportunity to connect, share resources, and discuss topics that impact our communities. Guest speakers will be announced closer to each event. The public is invited, and we look forward to your participation!

What: 2025 Neighborhood Roundtable Series

When: Third Mondays monthly beginning February through November | 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Dates: February 17th, March 17th, April 21st, May 19th, June 16th, July 21st, August 18th, September 15th, October 20th, November 17th

Where: Chattanooga City Council, 1000 Lindsay Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402 [MAP]

Parking: Free parking available at City employee parking lots located at 217 E 10th St and 900 Lindsay St.

Livestream: Neighborhood Roundtables will be livestreamed and recorded. You can watch live on the Chattanooga City Council’s YouTube page.

Neighborhood Driving/Walking Audits

The Neighborhood Walking/Driving Audit Program, available to registered Neighborhood Associations, is a collaborative initiative aimed at identifying and addressing community issues. During these audits, Neighborhood Relations Specialists join residents to walk or drive through their neighborhoods, engaging in discussions about local concerns. 

Using the 311 app, they systematically report problems such as potholes, streetlight outages, and code violations. To provide comprehensive support, officials from the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD), Codes Enforcement, and other city departments may also participate, ensuring a holistic approach to problem-solving. This proactive program empowers residents, fosters strong community relations, and enhances neighborhood safety and livability. Regular audits help prioritize and address issues promptly, making Chattanooga’s neighborhoods better places to live.
