Chattanooga, Tenn. (July 31, 2024) - Today, Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly announced that Charita Allen has been named Mayor Kelly’s new Senior Advisor for Economic and Workforce Development.
With more than 25 years of experience, Allen joins the Kelly Administration from the State of Tennessee, where she served as Director of Workforce Development at the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Before working at the state level, Charita served as Deputy Administrator of Economic Development for the City of Chattanooga from 2017 to 2021.
“Building a competitive regional economy is one of the core pillars of the One Chattanooga plan, and workforce development is at the core of our critical goal to improve economic mobility and vitality in Chattanooga. I am confident that Charita Allen is the person to get us to the next level,” said Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly. “Charita has a proven track record of success at the state level, in the private sector, and here in Chattanooga. We are thrilled to have her return and I’m looking forward to working with her ”
