CONSTRUCTION CLOSURES
257 S Howell Road
Howell Road between the south and north connections to Mayfair Ave will be
closed Tuesday, March 11th through Monday, March 17th for sewer repairs.
Detours will be posted.
4021 Hixson Pike - Emergency Gas Main Repair
Chattanooga Gas will conduct emergency repairs near the intersection of
Ashland Terrace and Hixson Pike on Tuesday, March 11th, and Wednesday,
March 12th between 9 AM and 3 PM. While work is being conducted, the
following restrictions will be in place:
Hixson Pike Northbound - Left and center lanes through the intersection
at Ashland Terrace will be closed; All traffic will utilize the right lane
Ashland Terrace Eastbound - Left lane closure at the intersection of
Hixson Pike
Wilcox Blvd Bridge
The Wilcox Blvd bridge located over the Norfolk Southern and CSX trackage
will require repairs on the expansion joints by City of Chattanooga Public
Works crews. Out of an abundance of safety, one side of the bridge will
close while the other will remain open.
Traffic will be shifted to the opposite side of the bridge, with lanes
reduced to one in each direction. Two-way traffic will be maintained for
the duration of the repairs. Work is scheduled on the following dates and
times:
- Wednesday, March 12th - 8:30 AM until 4 PM
- Thursday, March 13th - 8:30 AM until 4 PM
Wilcox Blvd Tunnel - Cleaning and Inspection
Wilcox Blvd Tunnel will be closed for inspection and cleaning on the
following dates and times:
- Thursday, March 13th – 8:30 AM until 3 PM
- Friday, March 14th - 8:30 AM until 3 PM
- Saturday– Will remain open all-day
- Sunday, March 16th – 7 AM until 4 PM
Detours will be posted, please plan for additional travel time while
traversing the detour route.
