Join Outdoor Chattanooga for a calm water kayak adventure up West Chickamauga Creek in Fort Oglethorpe, narrated by an interpretive ranger from Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and guided by the experienced staff of Outdoor Chattanooga.  This out-and-back adventure will take you on a journey to envision what it was like prior to and during the Battle of Chickamauga, when thousands of Confederate soldiers crossed West Chickamauga Creek to battle. With its steep banks and most of its bridges under Union control, other means of crossing the creek had to be found.

Our expert guides will provide basic kayaking instruction and help you get acquainted with our stable recreational kayaks, life jackets and paddles. No previous experience is required.
