Judge Sherry Paty was elected to the office of City Court Judge by the voters of
Chattanooga and was sworn in as Judge on August 20, 2004. Judge Paty is a lifelong
resident of Chattanooga.

Judge Paty is a member of the Tennessee Municipal Judges Conference and served as
President from 2016-2018. In November, 2021, Judge Paty was awarded the Susan G.
Lee Award of Excellence by the Tennessee Municipal Judges Conference. The
Conference is comprised of 250-300 Municipal Judges in the State of Tennessee. This
award is presented to one Judge within the conference each year who has made a
significant contribution to the Conference. Judge Paty serves as current President of
the Tennessee Municipal Judges Conference.
