What Are The Requirements?
Qualifications for class II residential electrical contractors.
Any person shall be eligible for the examination as a class II residential electrical contractor who:
Has had three (3) or more years' experience as a licensed journeyman electrician or residential electrician in the metropolitan area of the city; or
Has held an unrevoked class II residential electrical contractor's license in the city; or
Has a degree from an accredited school of electrical engineering or technology; or
Has such experience in residential electrical wiring as shall be acceptable to the board.
How Do I Renew?
Applicant will get an email before the license will expire. They can also see the expiration date on their license.
How Do I Apply?
Go to https://chattanoogatn.portal.opengov.com/ and register a free account.
Once logged in they can scroll down till you see Trade Licensing (icon is a person in a yellow vest and hard hat).
Once you click on that scroll down till you see the electrical license Journeyman. Click select and follow the next 6 steps.
Once you hit submit the license clerks will look at the information given and get back with either needing more information or the testing information.
What is the cost?
200.00/2 years plus a $5 Admin fee and a $10 Technology fee that is applied when paying for your license
