Chattanooga Police Department's Volunteer Chaplain Program

The mission of the Chattanooga Police Department's Volunteer Chaplain Program is two fold:

  1. To offer spiritual support to CPD officers, employees and their families and;
  2. To provide spiritual support to people who are victims of crime and trauma in the Chattanooga community.

The CPD Chaplain Program accomplishes this mission through some of the following activities: completing ride-alongs with patrol officers, hosting office hours to be available to employees, and  providing 24/7 on-call response to significant incidents to offer assistance to community members in crisis.

Although police chaplains may be of one denomination or religion, they provide support to all even if those seeking support do not share the same belief system. Volunteer Chaplains serve on a part-time or as-needed basis.
