To enhance safety and prepare for the upcoming 14th Street Neighborhood
Bikeway Project, the Chattanooga Division of Transportation has implemented
all-way stops at the following intersections, effective today, March 21st:
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn - On March 21, 2025 at 6:52 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a
two-vehicle crash in the 5600 block of Highway 58. Upon arrival, officers
found a 61-year-old female deceased.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Police Department’s newly formed
Police Activities League (PAL) program is ready to lead two fun-filled days
of activities for young people to participate in during Hamilton County
Schools spring break week. PAL is the department’s newest community
outreach program aimed at building positive relationships between police
officers and young people in the community.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – On March 19, 2025, the Chattanooga Police Department
opened an internal investigation into an officer assigned to the
Neighborhood Policing Bureau who is charged with Simple Assault/Domestic
Violence.
CPD Internal Affairs opened the investigation after CPD’s Neighborhood
Policing Officers responded to an Assault in Progress call at a location in
the 3100 block of Mountain Creek Rd. Once on scene and having determined
the relationship between the two parties, CPD’s Special Victims Unit was
called to take over the investigation.
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (3/19/2025) -The Arbor Day Foundation named
Chattanooga a 2024 TreeCity USA in honor of its commitment to plant, grow,
and maintain trees to benefit its community. The Arbor Day Foundation is a
global nonprofit with a mission to inspire people to plant, nurture and
celebrate trees. Its network of more than a million supporters and partners
has helped the organization plant more than 500 million trees in forests
and communities across more than 60 countries since 1972.
The Market Street Bridge between Frazier Ave and Aquarium Way will fully
close to vehicle traffic on Tuesday, March 18th from 7 PM until 11 PM per
the request of the Chattanooga Division of Arts, Culture, and Creative
Economy. The sidewalk located on the east side of the bridge will close
from 4 PM until 11 PM. Brief, intermittent closures (of a couple of
minutes) will take place on the west sidewalk but will be kept open for the
majority of the evening. Detours via 4th Street, HWY 27, Manufacturers
Road, and Cherokee Blvd will be posted.

Walnut Street Bridge
The Walnut Street Bridge carrying pedestrian and bicycle traffic across the
Tennessee River is now closed for renovation. The estimated reopening date
is September 2026. Detours via the Market Street Bridge and Veterans Bridge

3400 Rossville Blvd at E 34th Street
The following locations will have restrictions in place from Tuesday, March
18th until Monday, March 31st between 9 AM and 3 PM (weekdays only) for
sewer replacement:
