The Chattanooga Division of Transportation has implemented an all-way stop
at the intersection of W 13th Street and Chestnut Street
<https://maps.app.goo.gl/XS9Qd5at92k1k7US6>, effective today. This decision
follows a thorough review of a recent traffic study and careful
consideration of feedback from our constituents.

We urge all drivers approaching this intersection to exercise caution as
everyone adjusts to the new traffic pattern.

A St. Elmo residence was damaged by fire Sunday morning. At 11:54 AM on
4/27/25, Green Shift companies responded to the 1700 block of W 39th Street
after multiple callers to 911 reported seeing smoke and flames coming from
the structure. Responding units spotted smoke as they were headed to the
scene. On arrival, firefighters launched a swift attack and had the fire
out by 12:20 PM. One individual was displaced. There were no injuries. The

A Saturday morning house fire on the city’s east side was extinguished
quickly by members of the Chattanooga Fire Department. At 9:40 AM on
4/26/25, Blue Shift companies were dispatched to a residence in the 3800
block of Mark Twain Circle after a neighbor called 911 to report the fire.
Due to the possibility of a resident being inside the home, a second alarm
was called to bring additional CFD personnel to the scene. The first

American Water crews are en route to begin repairs. There is no estimated
reopening date at this time.

Chattanooga, Tenn. (April 24, 2025) - The City of Chattanooga has sent
letters to all 836 people whose City of Chattanooga data was affected by
Nationwide Recovery Services’ (NRS) recent data breach. The letters detail
to individuals what information was exposed and how they can register to
receive complimentary identity protection that the City will provide.

continues, additional areas may flood, and trees weakened at the roots due
to soft soil will also continue to fall.

WHAT:

Chattanooga, TN – The city of Chattanooga has announced that the bid
opening for the Hickory Valley Bridge Rehabilitation Project, originally
scheduled for Thursday, April 24, has been officially postponed to Thursday,
May 1, 2025. All bidders must be licensed contractors in compliance with
the State of Tennessee Contractor’s Licensing Act. The Hickory Valley
Bridge project involves substantial structural enhancements to improve
safety, extend service life, and meet current roadway design standards. The
project’s technical scope includes:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. –The Chattanooga Police Department arrested
41-year-old Anthony Newsom in relation to a shooting that occurred in the
800 block of Sylvan Drive on April 21.

On April 21, 2025, at 4:24 p.m., CPD responded to a person shot call in the
800 block of Sylvan Drive.  When the officers arrived at the scene, they
located a 64-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries.  The officers
learned the suspect also shot the victim's dog during the incident.
