CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- On February 3, 2024, at approximately 8:23 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a report of a person shot on the 800 Block of May Street.
When police arrived, they discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of this incident.

A Chattanooga man will serve a decade in prison for a brutal attack on his girlfriend. Van Edward Keith III, 45, pleaded guilty to Aggravated Domestic Assault and Arson this week and received a ten year sentence. On June 3, 2022, Keith beat the victim so severely at a home in the 2100 block of Allin Street that she was unable to walk. He then set the house on fire with her still inside and left as the structure burned. The victim, while suffering from compound fractures, managed to pull herself out of the residence and crawled into the street where she started to scream for help.

A woman suffered burns to her body following an apparent mishap with a candle that sparked an apartment fire on Mountain Creek Road Saturday night. On 1/20/24 at 5:50 PM, Red Shift companies responded to the Alpine Villas Apartments after a resident in the complex called 911 asking for help. Quint 17 found the victim with injuries and she was quickly loaded into an ambulance and transported to the hospital by Hamilton County EMS. Q17 then went into her apartment and found a fully involved bathroom fire.
Blue Shift companies worked their second house fire of the night in frigid conditions. At 2:30 AM on 1/17/24, firefighters responded to a home in the 3900 block of Graceland Trail and found heavy fire coming from the structure. All parties were out of the residence. Crews made an interior attack and conducted searches. It appears that the fire started in the basement and moved up to the second floor. When the floors became spongy, defensive operations were launched for safety reasons.
