Public Art Chattanooga invites artists or artist teams to submit qualifications for a new printed mural design to be installed along the Veterans Bridge pedestrian detour, created during the temporary closure of the Walnut Street Bridge. The mural will be printed on vinyl and installed on a retaining wall near Riverside Drive/Riverfront Parkway to enhance the pedestrian and cyclist experience along this key route.
Design Budget: $25,000
Deadline to Apply: July 28, 2025
Design Completion: October 20, 2025
Installation: October–November 2025
The mural will span approximately 1,800 sq. ft. and remain in place for a minimum of five years. The selected design should reflect the vibrancy of Chattanooga’s riverfront, arts district, and active pedestrian culture.
