About
PAC is administered by the City of Chattanooga and the Public Art Commission, partnering closely with the private sector to support public art projects throughout the City. The Mayor-appointed Public Art Commission reviews and approves all public art projects—ensuring artworks on city property meet city regulations and national standards for excellence. The PAC team provides resources and technical assistance for artist selection, artwork design, installation and maintenance, and also creates opportunities for community engagement through programming, education, and advocacy.

Proposals and Donations

Artwork Archives
The City of Chattanooga’s Public Art Collection is now showcased through Artwork Archives, offering an accessible and comprehensive platform that allows you to explore and appreciate the breadth of our diverse collection. We invite you to delve into the unique narratives, artistic processes, and cultural influences that have shaped the diverse array of sculptures, murals, and installations. Embark on a visual journey that not only celebrates the creativity of local and international artists but also fosters a deeper understanding of the intersecting stories and themes woven into the fabric of Chattanooga’s public art landscape.
Artwork Selection Panel
Every project has a different artwork selection panel comprised of Chattanooga citizens with a specific interest or expertise including: artists, community and business representatives, architects, landscape architects, art and/or design professionals, and City of Chattanooga representatives. This panel reviews submissions for a public art project and makes recommendations to the Public Art Commission.
