Learn to find your way — and yourself — in the wild. In this half-day outdoor course, participants explore the essential skills of navigation, route planning, and backcountry survival. Whether you’re hiking local trails or venturing off the beaten path, this hands-on class builds the confidence to handle unexpected situations — or better yet, to avoid them through smart preparation.
Under the guidance of experienced instructors, you’ll practice map and compass techniques, read the land using natural navigation cues, and discover practical survival strategies for when things don’t go as planned. You’ll also explore modern tools that complement traditional skills — including a look at instructor-favorite navigation and mapping apps .
