Step back in time with a guided hike led by historian Jim Ogden through the Civil War fortifications atop Stringer’s Ridge of Moccasin Bend. This immersive outdoor experience takes participants to two historic 10th Indiana Battery positions—one looking east toward Chattanooga and the other south toward Lookout Mountain. The hike covers approximately 1.5 miles round-trip, involves moderate elevation changes of about 170 feet per hill, and lasts around 90 minutes. This program is provided in partnership with Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park & Moccasin Bend National Archeological District, National Park Partners, and Outdoor Chattanooga.
Free to participate. Registration is required, confirmation info will be sent 3–5 days prior, with meeting location on Moccasin Bend. Group size is limited to 15–20 participants, with a minimum of 10 required.
