Chattanooga firefighters tackle East Brainerd house fire

Chattanooga firefighters made an aggressive, methodical attack on an East Brainerd house fire Thursday afternoon. Red Shift companies responded to
the 900 block of Lindsay Street at 2:44 PM on 4/9/26 on a reported residential fire.

Prior to the CFD’s arrival, a Good Samaritan who was passing by spotted smoke coming from the home. He stopped and assisted a disabled resident out of the burning structure and called 911. Once on the scene, CFD units found fire coming out of the garage. Firefighters launched an interior attack and rotated in and out as they made progress on combatting flames, which spread to the attic. By 3:18 PM, the fire was out.

The American Red Cross will be assisting two displaced residents. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Squad 13, Squad 7, Squad 1, Engine 21, Ladder 21, Engine 21, Engine 6, Ladder 6, Battalion 2 and Battalion 3 responded.
