Chattanooga, Tenn. (June 25, 2025) - Members of the media and the public
are invited to join Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly, the City of Chattanooga’s
Department of Community Development, City Leaders, and the Igou family for
a ceremony to mark the renaming of the Eastdale Community Center in honor
of the late Jessie Igou.
Born and raised in Chattanooga, Mrs. Igou dedicated part of her life to
advocating for the Eastdale Community. She was a long-time member of the
Eastdale Neighborhood Association and participated in several community
projects and initiatives. Her service and commitment to the community will
always be remembered. Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
