Embers of Hope: Candlelight Service of Hope Honors Survivors and Victims of Domestic Violence

Jump to:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Dr. Carol B. Berz Family
Justice Center invites the public to join in a special Candlelight Service
of Hope on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. on the lawn of the
Hamilton County Courthouse, located at 625 Georgia Avenue, Chattanooga, TN.

The Embers of Hope service offers a moment for our community to gather in
strength, compassion, and unity to honor survivors and victims of domestic
violence and their families. As the community lifts candles in remembrance,
the evening will serve as a powerful reminder of resilience, healing, and
the collective commitment to end domestic violence.

Special guest speaker Kelsey Bell will share during the program, joined by
Tennessee State Representative Esther Helton-Haynes, Chattanooga City
Councilwoman Jenni Berz, Regina McDevitt of the Family Justice Center, and
Pastor Korbet Swope of Cross Culture Church. Musical selections will be
performed by the Silverdale Baptist Academy Singers.

The Family Justice Center encourages families, friends, faith partners, and
community members from across Hamilton County to come together for this
meaningful event of remembrance and hope.

“Each candle we light is a symbol of unity and healing,” said Regina
McDevitt, Executive Director, Family Justice Center. “Together, we honor
those we’ve lost, support those still healing, and reaffirm our shared
commitment to a community free from violence.”
