PROGRAM YEAR 2026-2027 NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY
As a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Entitlement Community, the City of Chattanooga anticipates receiving the following funding for the program year beginning July 1, 2026. Amounts are estimates, based on funding from the prior year.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Grant: $1,541,000 CDBG Unexpended Carryover and Program Income: $600,000
Total CDBG Resources: $2,141,000

Estimated Total CDBG Funding Available $1,832,762
HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Program Funds: $760,000 HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Program Income: $100,000
The City will open applications for CDBG funds on January 6, 2026. Applications are due no later than February 6, 2026. Governmental entities and private nonprofit organizations that have a 501(c)(3), have been in operation for at least two years (as of January 1, 2026), and have a proven track record, are eligible to apply. The application and instructions are available on the City’s website.
Proposals for HOME funds are accepted throughout the year, on an ongoing basis. For-profit, public, and non-profit entities are eligible to apply.
The City will host a virtual workshop to discuss the funding and application process. Attendees will receive information on the anticipated funding, funding priorities, funding criteria, grant regulations, the process for applying for funding, and due dates for submissions. Although not required, potential applicants are strongly encouraged to attend, particularly those who are new to the process.
