Jump to:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The City of Chattanooga's Stormwater Division is announcing a solicitation for the installation and maintenance of litter capture devices throughout the city's stormwater system and local creeks.

Interested vendors can access the complete solicitation, specifications, and submission requirements through the City of Chattanooga's procurement website or contact purchasing@chattanooga.gov with any questions or interest.

Beginning Sunday, July 19, 2026, the City will advertise Solicitation 200975: Litter Capture Devices and Maintenance for City Waterways and Stormwater Infrastructure, seeking qualified vendors to provide equipment and services that intercept floating litter before it reaches Chattanooga's creeks and, ultimately, the Tennessee River.

The solicitation includes opportunities for vendors to provide litter capture devices for waterways and stormwater infrastructure, site evaluation and siting services, device maintenance, educational signage, mobilization, permitting (as needed), and tactical litter cleanup services. To encourage innovation and maximize participation, vendors may submit proposals for individual components of the project or for the complete scope of work.

"This project represents another important investment in protecting Chattanooga's waterways," said Erik Hancock with the City's Stormwater Division. "Capturing litter before it enters our streams helps improve water quality, protects aquatic habitat, and reduces pollution throughout the Tennessee River watershed."

This initiative supports the City's ongoing commitment to reducing litter, improving stormwater management, and protecting local water resources through innovative infrastructure and strategic partnerships.

The solicitation will be advertised on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Questions from prospective vendors will be accepted through Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., and sealed bids will be due by Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
