Chief John Chambers opened the ceremony by commending honorees and reminding officers of the dual role they serve in the community.

“The same officer who kneels to comfort a child must also be ready to stand firmly between that child and harm," Chief Chambers said. "The honorees embody that balance by demonstrating courage without arrogance, strength without cruelty, and authority without losing their humanity.”

Awards were presented across 20 categories. In addition, four officers received the Life Saving Medal.

Local 3 News anchor Michelle Heron served as emcee for the ceremony which was held at Abba's House in Hixson.

CPD thanks Michelle Heron, Abba's House, the CPD Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni, and CPD Explorers for helping to make the 2025 CPD Awards Ceremony an enjoyable, entertaining evening.
