EMERGENCY CLOSURE - WATER MAIN BREAK
3939 Caine Lane
Caine Lane in the 3900 block is closed due to a water main break. Tennessee
American Water crews are en route to begin repairs. There is no estimated
reopening date at this time.
NEW CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULED
Jersey Pike at Norfolk Southern Grade Crossing
The grade crossing on Jersey Pike at the Norfolk Southern Railroad will be
closed on Monday, April 28th, with an estimated closure time of 830 AM and
reopening of 4:30 PM. Rail traffic patterns may cause delays with both
closure and reopening times. Detours will be posted.
S Hawthorne Street
S Hawthorne Street between E Main Street and E 14th Street will be closed
on Monday, April 28th, through Friday, October 31st, for new construction
at the AIM Center.
Chestnut Street at W 4th Street
The following locations will be closed Monday, April 28th, until Friday,
May 2nd, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4 PM for cleaning the exterior of
a building:
Westbound right lane of W 4th Street between Chestnut Street and Broad
Street
Northbound right lane of Chestnut Street between W 5th Street and W 4th
Street
Sidewalks located directly underneath cleaning crews as they progress
around the building
901 Shallowford Road
The 900 block of Shallowford Road will be closed on Tuesday, April 29th,
from 8:30 AM until 4 PM for EPB power pole replacement. Detours will take
place via Tunnel Blvd and Wilcox Blvd. Please plan for additional travel
time.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
826 Lower Mill Road - Now Open
Repairs of Lower Mill Road are now complete and have fully reopened.
3107 Amnicola Hwy - Work Extended
Weekday lane closures will now be extended through June 1st, 2025. Between
9 AM and 3:30 PM daily, the right, westbound lane of Amnicola Hwy in the
3100 block will be closed for curb work.
PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED SCHEDULED CONSTRUCTION
507 Kilmer Street
The 500 block of Kilmer Street will be closed Friday, April 25th, through
Wednesday, April 30th, for sewer repair. Detours will be posted.
3480 N Hawthorne Street - Norfolk Southern Grade Crossing
Norfolk Southern Railroad notified the City of Chattanooga of a track
defect, which will require the full closure of N Hawthorne Street to
conduct repairs. The closure will occur Sunday, April 27th, from 8:30 AM
until 5:30 PM (estimated). During this time, there will be NO GENERAL
PUBLIC ACCESS north of the grade crossing (seen in the map below, notated
with a red ‘X’). EMS, Chattanooga Fire, and Police will have access to the
area with an agreement to utilize privately owned roads in case of an
emergency. All businesses north of the crossing have been notified of the
pending closure.
