EMERGENCY CLOSURE

STANDIFER GAP ROAD

Standifer Gap Road is closed to all through traffic between Jenkins Road
and Walker Road due to emergency stormwater repairs. Yesterday, flooding
approached the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center due to a damaged
stormwater pipe. The Chattanooga Department of Public Works has crews
on-site to conduct emergency repairs, ensuring that the expected rainfall
tonight and through the weekend will not threaten the jail and the
surrounding area. The work is expected to be completed by late
afternoon/early evening.
