CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Dec. 15, 2025) – Mayor Tim Kelly has ordered flags to fly half-staff across city buildings, grounds and facilities tomorrow, Tuesday, December 16, in honor of Gerald McCormick.

McCormick served Hamilton County in the Tennessee House of Representatives’ 26th District for 14 years. He passed away last week. “Gerald was a force of nature who worked tirelessly to make Chattanooga a better place to live,” Kelly said. “His ability to accomplish great things for our community – through his wisdom, humor and leadership across party lines – is a testament to his character and a shining example of what it means to serve. On behalf of the entire city, I extend my deepest sympathies to Kim, Cooper, Scottie, and all who loved him.”
