CHATTANOOGA, TN — The City of Chattanooga is pleased to announce the
successful completion of significant roadway improvements on Harrison Pike,
specifically the section between Addison Road and the railroad tracks. This
project addressed critical infrastructure needs and enhanced safety and
traffic flow for residents and commuters.
The work was a collaborative effort between the City's State Street Aid
team and the Department of Transportation. The SSA team first repaired a
sewer settlement issue in the area, a necessary step before the road could
be paved. Following the repair, the roadway was paved, creating a smoother
and more durable surface. The Transportation team then completed the final
step of the project by adding the necessary striping to the newly paved
section. “Maintaining and repairing our community's roads, sewers, and
other public surfaces require a team effort where our team members operate
collaboratively to ensure every aspect of our infrastructure is addressed
as a cohesive system.” says Public Information Officer, Errol Williams.
This section of Harrison Pike serves as a key route for both District 5 and
District 8, though the completed work is located within Councilman Dennis
Clark's District 5.
The completion of this project highlights the city's ongoing commitment to
maintaining and improving its infrastructure for the benefit of all
citizens.
