Lumberjacks Hardwood Center two-alarm fire

Jump to:

The Chattanooga Fire Department is working a large, two-alarm commercial fire in the Highland Park area. At 10:42 PM on 12/16/25, Blue Shift companies responded to Lumberjacks Hardwood Center at 1626 South Watkins Street and found flames through the roof of the business. Due to the size of the fire and the dangerous conditions, defensive operations were initiated as a water supply was established. Our primary goal was to surround the fire and protect the lumberyard in the back of the business which we have been successful in doing. Tennessee American Water was contacted to boost water pressure for fir fighting operations. EPB responded to the scene and cut power around the business due to the proximity of power lines to the fire for the safety of CFD personnel. We have set up a large collapse zone around the structure due to structural integrity being compromised from the fire. Traffic is shut down from Lyerly Street and East Main up to Dodds Avenue, as well as all surrounding side streets to give CFD space to work. Crews will be on scene for several hours fighting this blaze. There are no injuries to r port at this time. Investigators are on the scene, along with CPD and HCEMS.
