On May 8, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Chattanooga Police (CPD) responded to a domestic assault call between two parties.
Officers spoke with one involved party. Police located the other party soon after in a parking lot in the 3200 block of Kellys Ferry Road. At approximately 11:40 a.m. shots were fired leaving one man dead. No officers were injured and the scene was secured.
Per CPD policy, the officers have been placed on administrative leave. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is leading the investigation. All inquiries regarding the investigation should be directed to TBI.
