The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will be conducting
inspections, maintenance, and cleaning operations in several
Chattanooga-area tunnels this week. These operations require overnight
closures or lane restrictions of the affected tunnels. A list of the
tunnels, along with their respective closure dates and times, is provided
below. Detour routes will be clearly indicated with temporary signage.
McCallie Tunnel - General Maintenance / Cleaning
Wednesday, January 21st at 8 PM until Thursday, January 22nd 6 AM; Each
tunnel bore will be closed separately, please follow all instructions by
on-site flagging crews. Two-way travel will be maintained at all times.
Stringers Ridge Tunnel - Cleaning
Wednesday, January 21st at 8 PM until Thursday, January 22nd, 6 AM; This is
a full closure requiring detours via HWY 27 or N Market Street.
Bachman Tubes (Westside Dr/Ringgold Rd) - Cleaning
Thursday, January 22nd, at 8 PM until Friday, January 23rd, at 6 AM; This
is a full closure, requiring detours over Missionary Ridge or I-24. Detours
will be posted.
CONSTRUCTION ROAD CLOSURES

The 100 block of S Howell Ave will be closed Thursday, January 22nd,
through Monday, January 26th, for emergency sewer repair. Detours will be
posted. Please Note: Expected inclement weather this weekend may cause a
delay in reopening.

Pine Ridge Road between Chambliss Street and Merriam Street will be closed
Thursday, January 22nd, through Friday, January 23rd for tree removal.
Detours will be posted.

The 600 block of Barton Ave will see a lane shift from Friday, January
23rd, until Thursday, April 23rd, to install a new natural gas main.
Traffic will be maintained in both directions with the use of the center
turn lane. Please use caution as work crews are on site.
