UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENT ROAD CLOSURES

Medal Of Honor Services

On Friday, October 3rd, from 7 AM until 11 AM, the following roads will be
closed to assist with logistics hosting the Medal of Honor Services:

  • Pine Street from W 8th Street to W 6th Street
  • W 7th Street from Second Presbyterian Parking Lot to Pine Street; An
    officer will be present at the intersection of Chestnut Street and W 7th
    Street to assist with parking lot access

Officers will be present at all barricade sites to assist business
patrons through the closure to their destinations

Howard School Homecoming Parade

The Howard School Homecoming Parade will take place on Friday, October 3rd,
between 5 PM and 6 PM, and will require a rolling closure provided by the
Chattanooga Police Department. The rolling closure will travel the
following route:

  • Enter E 38th Street at Hughes Ave, a full closure of this intersection
    will take place until the last attendee enters the route
  • Hughes Ave to Alton Park Blvd westbound
  • Alton Park Blvd from E 38th Street

Hutton & Smith 10th Anniversary Party

E MLK Blvd will be closed between Foster Street and Douglas Street on
Saturday, October 4th from 10 AM until Midnight for the Hutton & Smith 10
Year Anniversary Party. Detours will be posted.

Bands Of America Regionals

Finley Stadium will undergo the following road closures and restrictions in
anticipation of large crowds attending the Bands of America Regional
Competition.  These will take place on Saturday, October 4th, from 4 AM
until 11:45 PM:

Full Closure:

  • Chestnut Street between W 19th Street and W 17th Street
  • Chestnut Street from just south of Vinterest Southside Parking Lot to W
    25th Street
  • W 19th Street between Reggie White Blvd and Chestnut Street
  • Reggie White Blvd between W 19th Street / Skate Park south entrance and
    W Main Street

Restrictions:

All street parking within the closure will be restricted

  • Westbound right lane of W 20th Street between Chestnut Street and W Main
    Street

3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival <https://www.3sistersbluegrass.com/>*

Riverfront Parkway between Power Alley and Chestnut Street will be closed
effective immediately, with an expanded closure to take place Friday
morning.

From Friday, October 3rd at 7 AM until Sunday, October 5th at 10 PM, the
following closures and restrictions will be in place:

  • Riverfront Parkway between Aquarium Way and the parking lot beneath HWY
    27 Bridge will be closed to all through traffic.
     
  • Power Alley between the parking lot access and Riverfront Parkway will
    be closed to all traffic.
     
  • Chestnut Street between Aquarium Way and Riverfront Parkway will be
    closed to all traffic.
     

All street parking within the closure will be closed once the closure
begins.
 

All tractor-trailers and vehicles with greater than 2 axles are
prohibited between W Martin Luther King Blvd and E Aquarium Way. Detours
will be posted for these vehicles.

*PLEASE NOTE: 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival takes place on Friday and
Saturday, the closure will remain in place through 10 PM Friday for
Chattanooga Pride

Chattanooga Pride Festival and Parade <https://www.chattanoogapride.com/>*

*The Chattanooga Pride Festival will utilize the same closure as the 3
Sisters Bluegrass Festival (see above) on Sunday until 10 PM.

The Pride Parade will begin setup on Sunday, October 5th, at 11 AM, with
full closures and restrictions in effect from 1 PM until the estimated end
time of 2 PM. The closures and restrictions are as follows:

  • Lookout Street and 4th Street will see a temporary closure as the parade
    exits the Unum Parking Lot and enters 4th Street
  • The right, westbound lane of 4th Street will be closed between Lookout
    Street and Market Street
  • Market Street northbound will be closed from 4th Street until Aquarium
    Way
  • Aquarium Way westbound will be closed between Market Street and Chestnut
    Street

Parade patrons will disperse at the intersection of Aquarium Way and
Chestnut Street, with attendees going into the festival grounds and
vehicles exiting south on Chestnut Street

River Street between the Sushi Nabe Parking Lot and Renaissance Park will
be closed Sunday, October 5th, from 8 AM until 4 PM for the annual
NAMIWalks.
