The City of Chattanooga on Tuesday offered and sold $42,485,000 in General Obligation Bonds to the competitive bond market. The City received 16 competitive bids to purchase the City’s bonds with UBS Financial Services Inc. submitting the winning bid at a true interest cost of 4.20% – an interest rate well below the current prime rate (8.5%) and the federal funds rate (5.5%), a nod to the prevailing robust economic conditions in Chattanooga.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (November 1, 2023) - Leaf Season is upon us, and the Department of Public Works will begin its loose leaf collection program on Monday, November 6. The city is divided into four leaf collection service areas (map below), and residents in these areas will be serviced on a rolling basis through March 29, 2024.

Wednesday, October 31, 2012, on Halloween night, the Chattanooga Fire Department will open all 19 fire stations in Chattanooga from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to give trick-or-treaters an up-close look inside a fire station.  While there, children can talk to the firefighters, look at the fire engines, and get some delicious candy, while supplies last!  This event applies to the 19 fire stations located within the city limits of Chattanooga.
