CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – On March 15, 2025 at 6:15 p.m., Chattanooga Police
responded to a person shot call in the 3700 block of Youngstown Road. When
officers arrived on scene they found a 44-year-old man deceased from an
apparent gunshot wound.

CPD's Homicide Unit responded to conduct the investigation. The Crime Scene
Unit responded to process the crime scene. An investigator with the
Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office also responded to the scene and
transported the body to their facility.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.  – On March 16, 2025 at 12:15 a.m., Chattanooga Police
responded to a pedestrian struck call in the 4700 block of Highway 58. Upon
arrival, officers found a 60-year-old man deceased.

CPD's Traffic Unit responded to conduct the crash investigation. The
preliminary investigation shows Vehicle #1 (Chevy Malibu) was traveling
north on Highway 58 in the left/first lane of travel. The pedestrian, who
was wearing dark clothing, was walking eastbound across Hwy 58 in extreme
rain and storm conditions when he was struck by the vehicle.

Chattanooga, TN – The City of Chattanooga is embarking on a revitalization of the iconic Walnut Street Bridge, ensuring its legacy as a treasured pedestrian landmark for generations to come.  Beginning Monday, March 17, 2025, the bridge will close for an estimated 18 months to accommodate extensive renovations that enhance both its safety and historic aesthetic appeal. During this time, the bridge will be completely closed to all pedestrian traffic, except for select athletic events listed in the official renovation schedule.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – On March 12, 2025, at 12:34 p.m., Chattanooga
Police responded to an EPB building located in the 1000 block of Central
Avenue for a vehicle theft call.  The stolen vehicle description was
broadcast to all CPD officers.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – St. Patrick’s Day 2025 celebrations will take place
across the country on and around Monday, March 17. The U.S. Department of
Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and
the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) urge drivers to remember that

257 S Howell Road

Howell Road between the south and north connections to Mayfair Ave will be
closed Tuesday, March 11th through Monday, March 17th for sewer repairs.
Detours will be posted.

4021 Hixson Pike - Emergency Gas Main Repair

Chattanooga Gas will conduct emergency repairs near the intersection of
Ashland Terrace and Hixson Pike on Tuesday, March 11th, and Wednesday,
March 12th between 9 AM and 3 PM. While work is being conducted, the
following restrictions will be in place:

Traffic Signals at Amnicola Hwy / Wisdom Street / Riverport Road

Please be advised that the traffic signals at the intersection of Amnicola
Highway and Wisdom Street/Riverport Road are currently out.
Crews from the Chattanooga Division of Transportation are on their way to
assess the situation and determine the cause of the outage.
As a reminder, please treat any intersection with inoperable traffic
signals as an all-way stop.

The City of Chattanooga Department of Public Works in conjunction with our
contract crews has scheduled the following locations for resurfacing for
the week of Monday, March 10th through Friday, March 14th (weather
permitting):
