The RainSmart Rewards rebate program provides financial incentives for residential projects that naturally manage stormwater and improve local ecosystems. By installing rain gardens, rain barrels, native plantings, or restoring streambanks, homeowners can reduce runoff, prevent erosion, create habitat, and support healthier waterways—all while earning up to $5,000 in rebates to offset project costs.

Rain Gardens

Rain gardens are innovative green infrastructure systems designed to capture and infiltrate runoff from rooftops using amended soils and native plants. Rain gardens not only mitigate runoff but also support local biodiversity and enhance urban environments, fostering healthier and more sustainable communities.

SupportScapes

SupportScapes are native plantings to replace traditional turf grass, invasive plants, bare soil, and impervious areas with native plants. These deep-rooted species effectively absorb and slow runoff, reduce erosion, and minimize the need for harmful chemicals. By mimicking natural habitats, SupportScapes promote better water quality, support local biodiversity, and enhance our ecosystems.

Streambank Restoration

Streambank restoration stabilizes eroding streambanks, improves water quality, and restores habitat using native plants and natural engineering techniques. By reducing sediment runoff and strengthening stream corridors, it supports healthier waterways and more resilient ecosystems.

Rain Barrels

Rain barrels capture and store rainwater, reducing runoff, lessening erosion, and easing pressure on drainage systems to promote better stormwater management and environmental conservation. Install an approved RainSmart Rain Barrel and receive a reimbursement of $50 per barrel, up to 10 barrels per property.
