Registration: 7:00 - 8:45
Opening Ceremony: 9:00
Event Start: 9:30
The 11th Annual Chattanooga 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb & 3.43 Mile Walk, a
heartfelt event honoring the brave heroes who lost their lives on 9/11 is
Saturday, September 13th at AT&T Field (201 Power Alley).
Come together with fellow participants to climb the stairs, symbolizing the
heroic efforts made by firefighters and first responders during the tragic
events of September 11th. This unique experience allows you to help
memorialize their sacrifice while challenging yourself physically and
mentally.
It’s not a race, it’s a tribute! Everyone taking part in the climb will
carry a fallen firefighters’ photo to honor their memory. Climbing 110
flights represents the number of stories in the World Trade Center towers.
Memorial stair climbs symbolize the challenging ascent first responders
made on that tragic day as they rushed to save lives. If you are unable to
do the climb, you are welcome to do the 3.43 mile walk around the infield,
as 343 was the number of firefighters who perished on 9/11. This is a
family-friendly event that draws community members and firefighters from
across the region each year.
