Chattanooga firefighters tackle large Lookout Valley blaze

Jump to:

A frantic call to 911 alerted Chattanooga firefighters to a large house
fire in Lookout Valley Friday morning. Red Shift companies were dispatched
to the 300 block of Azalea Dale Drive at 4:48 AM on 2/6/26. All of the
occupants managed to safely escape the burning home. Engine 3 confirmed a
working residential structure fire on arrival and with the help of other
responding crews, they launched defensive operations due to heavy fire
conditions. An aerial master stream was used to knock down the bulk of the
flames. Firefighters also worked to protect nearby residences. By 5:28 AM,
the fire was under control and crews conducted an interior attack. They
continued working until the fire was out and then focused on remaining hot
spots. CFD personnel successfully protected exposures on both sides,
preventing damage to neighboring homes. There were no injuries. The cause
of the fire is under investigation. Engine 3, Squad 20, Engine 14, Squad 1,
Engine 1, Ladder 5, Engine 5, Battalion 1, Battalion 3, and CFD
Investigations responded.
