Chattanooga firefighters acted fast to stop a hotel fire from spreading Sunday night. At 8:52 PM on 1/25/26, Red Shift companies responded to the DoubleTree at 407 Chestnut Street. On arrival, crews saw fire showing from an 8th floor window. A second and third alarm was struck due to it being a hotel with multiple occupants. Firefighters attacked the fire and had it out in 15 minutes. Multiple crews evacuated the other occupants from the unaffected floors. Third alarm companies were canceled as others did a secondary sweep of the hotel. Multiple tarps were placed to help salvage belongings. There were no injuries. Officials on the scene say the fire was caused by a wall heater.
