An East Lake family safely escaped their burning home Friday morning. At
8:32 AM on 10/31/25, Red Shift companies responded to the 1900 block of E
32nd Street after 911 received reports that a house was on fire with
occupants were still inside the structure. Due to the possibility of
entrapment, a second alarm was called to bring additional personnel to the
scene. First arriving fire companies found the front half of the residence
engulfed in flames. Firefighters immediately went inside to begin
searching, but were removed from the home for safety reasons until a
primary water supply was established. They then went back inside and
continued searching the structure. Fire officials learned that all
occupants had made it out of the fire safely. One of the residents
sustained possible smoke inhalation, but they were not transported to the
hospital. There were no other injuries. CFD personnel continued working to
extinguish the fire. The residents indicated that they woke up and smelled
smoke and saw flames. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
