MARKET STREET CLOSING TONIGHT FOR INTERSECTION UPGRADE

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (February 17, 2026)

As part of ongoing efforts to upgrade traffic lights and intersection
infrastructure, the control cabinet at the intersection of Market Street
and 4th Street will be replaced. To safely complete the replacement, the
following restrictions will take place on Tuesday (tonight), February 17th
at 11:00 PM for an estimated 2-3 hours:

• Market Street will be closed to all through traffic between E 3rd Street
  and E 5th Street; Detours will be posted.
• All left turn lanes from E 4th Street to Market Street will be closed.
• E 4th Street will remain open through the intersection, however lanes
  will narrow and all vehicles will need to stop at the intersection (traffic
  lights will be off, mandating an all-stop).
