The Chattanooga Fire Department worked a two-alarm high rise fire overnight at Mary Walker Towers. At 12:15 AM on 10/11/25, Green Shift companies responded to 2501 Market Street on an automatic fire alarm. Firefighters found smoke on the second floor and fire in one of the apartments. They had the fire out quickly and evacuated all second floor residents as they worked to remove smoke from the building. Smoke and electrical issues also impacted units on the first floor below where the incident occurred. Seven residents in total were displaced by the fire and alternate housing accommodations were being secured by apartment management. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
